In the case of theft like vehicles and mobiles, if the thief is unknown, the Home Department has decided to file an e-FIR/complaint through the Citizen Portal or Citizen First App set up by the government. The Investigating Officer will contact the complainant for further investigation within approximately 48 hours after filing the e-FIR/complaint within the time limit where the accused is unknown or the complainant has not suffered any injury.
• Complaints can be lodged on Citizen Portal or Citizen First Mobile App.
• You have to register on this app and upload details of phone or vehicle theft online.
• After signing the printout of the online application, this signed application has to be scanned and uploaded.
• The e-FIR will be forwarded to the police station whose name is written in the incident information and if the name is not written then the office of the Commissioner of Police will forward the e-FIR/complaint and the e-FIR will be forwarded to the concerned police station by the office of the Commissioner of Police/Superintendent of Police. / Complaint will be forwarded.
• User ID of e-GujCop by police station employee. By logging on to e-GujCop in the portal worklist, he/she will be able to view the e-FIR/complaint and in any case it will have to be forwarded to the designated staff at the police station for preliminary investigation within 24 hours time frame.
• When the preliminary investigation is assigned to the Investigating Officer appointed at that police station, the Investigating Officer and also the complainant will be informed by e-mail/SMS about the Investigating Officer Assign.
• The Investigating Officer shall conduct the necessary verification of the first e-FIR on receipt of such e-FIR/complaint and within 48 hours of uploading, contact the complainant and verify the relevant documents and visit the scene of vehicle theft/mobile for theft. This entire process has to be completed within 48 hours of uploading the e-FIR/complaint and the preliminary investigation report on the e-FIR/complaint has to be submitted.
• The police station officer will dispose of the e-FIR properly and
register it in e-Gujcop within 24 hours of receiving this report. If the e-FIR contains wrong documents and wrong details, the application will go to the office. The e-FIR/complaint shall be disposed within 72 hours of uploading from the Citizen Portal/Citizen First Mobile App.
PI has to dispose of e-FIR within 24 hours of receipt.
